BRIDE

I made this layout for the sketch contest at My Creative Scrapbook.  I used papers that I have had for a while so I don't remember who manufactured them.  The floral background for the photo is by Anna Griffin.  The ribbon border and the flowers were made by Prima.

I made this layout with the beautiful Bo Bunny papers and embellishments in the December Main kit from My Creative Scrapbook.  I started this layout in January but I wanted to use the back of this paper, and I could not find it anywhere until I looked for it online.  I got it and completed the layout.  Of course, I inked and chalked a little bit.

This is a layout I did for the March Sketch Contest at My Creative Scrapbook.  I did a lot of inking and chalking on this page,  I used a lot of scraps I had left over from other pages.  The papers are K and Company, the cardstock and ribbon are from Michaels, the buttons are from EK Success, the stickers are Mrs. Grossmans, the chipboard letters are from American Crafts, and the flowers are from Prima. My chipboard letters were white, but I inked and chalked them until I liked the color.  The photos are of my beautiful cat Tabba.  He is mostly grey and white with a little tan here and there.  He can look different depending on the light, and I think he looked a little violet in that light

I made this page from the beautiful Limited Edition kit from My Creative Scrapbook.  It contained new Spring Market line by Websters Pages.  The blue paper is some I had from K and Company.  The buttons are from EK Success. All the flowers are Prima except the yellow flowers were loose in another one of my kits from My Creative Scrapbook, so I am not sure who made them.

I made this page from the March Main kit from My Creative Scrapbook.  Everything I used on this page is from the kit except the green strip I used for the stem of my flower is from a scrap I had, and the flower in the center of the doily is by Jolee's Boutique.

Easy lacing technique

This is an easy lacing technique.  To start punch your holes.  You can use a ruler to keep your holes straight.  A Tim Holtz ruler works very well for this because there are holes in the ruler you can put a pencil through to mark where to punch.   I used the water threading craft punch by Fiskers for this sample.  To start, thread your ribbon from the back.

Skip a hole and cross your ribbon and thread through to the back.

If I am using holes this close, I don't cross in the back, because I think it makes it look to busy.  If I put holes far apart it doesn't really matter, but for this sample, I went in the to skipped holes on the same side.

Now my ribbon is back to the front.  Cross your ribbon, skipping another hole, and thread to the back.  Keep going until you use all the holes.  Then add to your layout.  If you are not joining two pieces of paper together,  You can punch your holes as far apart on your layout to allow yourself to add rhinestones,  pearls, or flowers in between each threading.  You can use eyelets or not in your holes.

I originally posted this in June of 2009.  I found a layout that I did for my Mother's wedding album that I did this lacing technique.  I added a few things to the layout as I thought it had too much white space.  The layout is called Love.

I made this layout in 2008 for a Scrapbook I made for my Mother.  I was looking through the book and the layout looked plain.  I had one white flower  originally, and I replaced them with some Prima flowers I received in the January Main kit from My Creative Scrapbook.  The paper is by Anna Griffin.  The round paper in the middle, I don't remember who made it but it is the back of the paper.  That is a good tip, if you don't need the paper you can always flip it over to the white on the back (if it isn't double sided) and chalk it or bling it out any way you want to.  I originally had pearls in each of the holes on the white page.  I added a Prima say it in pearls embelishment that I cut and added at the bottom right and to the left top and the little butterfly was included.  It matched perfectly with the pearls I used on the layout originally.  The chipboard letters by American Crafts are orignal to the layout. I think the Prima flowers and pearl embelishment added a lot.
